Black acrylic
A laser cuts through the black surface to a white core, so the lettering is not filled — it is the material underneath. Nothing else we make is this legible from across a corridor.
How it ages in Switzerland
Indoors, essentially forever — the contrast cannot wear off because it is structural, not printed. Outdoors is another story. Sustained UV chalks the black surface within a few years, and repeated freeze-thaw makes acrylic brittle, so a screw hole that was fine in October can craze by March. We supply it for outdoor use only where a client insists, and never for alpine altitudes. Solvent cleaners are the other hazard: alcohol and window sprays craze the surface. Warm water and a soft cloth are all it needs.

Think twice if the plaque goes outdoors at all, and especially above 1000 m — choose steel or aluminium instead.
Questions
Can I use black acrylic on a letterbox?
We would advise against it. Letterboxes take full sun and full frost, and acrylic is the one material of ours that dislikes both.
How do I clean it?
Warm water and a soft cloth. Never alcohol, never window spray — solvents craze the surface permanently.
